With fantastic support from British Council, our team from Discovery Central Asia was once again back at WTM with our own stand. Decked out in fashion and accessories from Ikat and silk maded in Uzbekistan, we were not only in London to make our publications known to a wider audience; indeed, bringing Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, all of Central Asia, that unknown territory, into a positive limelight is a our broadest aim
We had flown in with British Mediterranean Airways/British Airways from Almati and from Tashkent, unhesitatingly the best air link to Tashkent, and we were excited to be back at a fair that showcases but the very top and very finest in tourism.
Apart from the fact that we love the city of London, we love everything about WTM. Superb organisation, starting with public transport, registration, the stand engineers and the customer service extended by
Ryan whom we remembered fondly from last year and not ending with the press center and the great variety of really classy snack food for sale...

We took advantage of an ever interesting program of talks, lectures and forums by and for industry professionals and left not only with bags full of literature and give-aways but also with shoppers full of good ideas for tourism development in Central Asia and what we from Discovery can do to let the world know that the "Stans" are a great destination who have so much to offer that adventure and culture travellers desperately seek.
It is stimulating to see what other countries and areas in the world are doing to promote themselves. At WTM you get the world's smartest concepts in tourism at a glance and definitely get to understand where and who the benchmark is.
In a truly nice, relaxed, friendly yet sophisticated ambience.
WTM London recharges our batteries, makes us explore new options, makes us want to do a much better job. (And don't think we are not hard workers already). And one last thing that WTM London does for us is give us the thumbs up that Discovery Central Asia has by now turned from pioneer to establishment in tourism throughout Central Asia.
