From the editorial board

The written word on Central Asia is our daily bread, transforming the essence of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan into a coherent text, aligning words that make you understand what to expect, where to stay, what to eat, whom to see, what to discover in Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, that is our passion. We also know that most travellers to Central Asia actually found their way to this uncharted part of the world via the written word, an adventure book or some reference in a novel that triggered a longing and the desire to get here.
So pouring this passion into a brand new venture and opening the first ever Discovery Bookstore in Tashkent was but a logical step.
I myself am surprised and captivated by the many English books written on the subject of Central Asia. There isn't an aspect that has not been considered and elaborated on, from research to personal travel experiences covering the last couple of hundred years. Come visit us in Tashkent or in ourfuture subsidiaries in Almati and Bishkek and get the ultimate word on Central Asia. Our book review As every year, we are participating at WTM in London, the ultimate of all tourism fairs, again curtesy of British Council, our trusted friends and partners, who contribute in a major way to tourism development. As I am writing this editorial, we are in the planning stages of a series of Discovery Tour expedtions to trace new routes throughout Central Asia. From January to August 2007 we we will lead expeditions accompanied by a professional photographer, reasearchers and journalists. You'll read about it - and not only in Discovery Central Asia-my word.
Add to your library, read up on this exciting part of the world, browse our www.silkpress.com to get all the wiser and then, make your travel plans. You will not regret a Silkroad journey, my word.
