Focus. Pearl of Central Asia

High-mountain Issyk Kul Lake is a pearl of Central Asia, a unique creation of nature, harmoniously incorporated in its surroundings. Located at an altitude of 1610m above sea level, surrounded by mountain ranges from which eternally snow-capped peaks beckon. The lake never completely freezes, no wonder, it's 180kms long, 70 km wide and its deepest point was measured at 688m.
With water temperatures around +240C in the summer, an ideal holidiay resort.

Issyk Kul Lake with its magnificent sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, mineral sources, a combination of mountainous and sea climate is a fine resort zone making for an ideal holiday. Get healthy, there are many factors, which will help you. Mud and thermo mineral treatments can be booked at the spa but there are natural healing factors too. The steep angle of the sun in the summer at 710C and in the winter with 240C gives you the best of rays. Humidity of the air is an important climatic factor that can make a tremendous difference in a person's health. With 68% humidity, you get ideal conditions. Clean air, iodized like on the Atlantic shores combined with a low-pressure environment will regenerate you in no time.

All these factors together are an ideal combination, the best of the mountains, the best of the sea. The water of the lake is saltish and its general mineralization is 5,9 g/l of cloride-sulphate-sodium -magnesium, generating a sanitizing effect. The water is used for medical treatments, baths, feminine douches and in swimming pools. Medical sulphidic silt muds are used for treatment of a whole range of ailments, such as troubles with the peripheral nervous system, gastroenteric path, etc. The medical effect of natural and climatic factors are supplemented with various kinds of massages, physiotherapies and other traditional medical procedures.

In summer 123 resort or hotels are in operation, from Sanatorium type of spa's to boarding houses, bed & breakfasts and children's camps. Boarding houses are mainly located at the northern coast of the lake. All health resorts have direct access to the beaches or at a maximum 100m walk from the shore.

The distance from Bishkek to Cholpon-Ata is 250 km and the road passes along Boomskoye gorge. During four hours of traveling by car you will witness the most various types of landscapes and climatic zones: Steppes, mountain meadows, snow areas and glaciers, red Eolithic castles.

For arrival to Kyrgyzstan it is sufficient to hold a citizen's passport. The Kyrgyz and Kazakh visas are not required for citizens of the CIS. Within 5 days the citizens of the CIS who have entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan are obliged to be registered in police bodies. On entrance to the territory of Kazakhstan it is necessary to fill in migration forms that are given free-of-charge at check points of Kazakhstan and entitle to present at the territories of republic without registration within 5 days.

National currency of Kyrgyzstan is Kyrgyz som. National currency of Kazakhstan is Kazakh tenge.
