Samarkand art Gallery
Samarkand Art Gallery, is a vast and incomparable cultural centre close to the Registan. The gallery has an extensive and diverse spectrum of art with many contributing partners, not only in Uzbekistan but also from abroad. The gallery is situated in one of the most picturesque buildings of Samarkand.

A historical building, which originally was the first Christian church in Samarkand, was built in the XIX century. Within the walls, are paintings, graphic art and sculptures by Uzbek artists. Personal group tours of the gallery can be arranged as well as a concert of classical and Russian music. In addition, a children's dance ensemble, Topotushki, performs delightful folk and international dances. The gallery is proud to present a collection of paintings from the founders of the painting school in Uzbekistan, namely Mr. Benkov, Ms. Kovalevskaya, Mr. Karahan, Mr. Redkin, and Mr. Ulko. The hall of decorative arts presents a variety of textiles, carpets, jewelry, traditional embroidery and ceramics. Sergey Ganiev
Sergey Ganiev has found his niche in painting lacquered miniatures. His depictions on small lacquered boxes are painted in exquisite detail, his work often portraying powerful battles or hunting plots, skillfully expressing the emotions of the event. Possessing incredible talent, he avoids overloading his multi-figured work, concentrating rather on clarity. Using gouache and watercolours he strives for an airy lightness. Artistically the soft colours merge into a dominant golden yellow and brown background, creating his own classical style. The fine ornamentation produces a high quality varnished product that emphasizes the artist's attention to detail.

Zavyalova Olga
The skill of metallic graphic art is created by Zavyaloova Olga Ivanovna. An inquisitive person by nature, she is interested in every aspect of nature and art. This reference point helped her in her choice of profession.
After finishing at an applied school, she continued studying at the State University with honours using metal are a reflection of her creative mind. Some of her metallic-graphic arts are warm, some are cold, each a surprise with her novel ideas and originality. After successful exhibitions in Moscow and St.Petersburg many of her works of art are now private collections in Latvia, Germany, Thailand, Israel, the USA, Russia and Uzbekistan. Liaising with the 4 presidents of Central Asia, she designed the Internation Business Center in Tashkent. Her belief strongly lies in the fact that art cannot exist without internal spiritual growth and dialoque with animate nature.

Golden embroidery
Golden embroidery dates back to the 14th century, but reached its zenith during the 19th century. Traditionally only men wore gold, as there was a strong belief that women's hands would tarnish the golden thread . Items include long coats (chopan), vests, pants, skullcaps(dopa), turbans, shoes, bags, pillows, teapot covers, fans, wall hangings and horse cloths. Gold was the status of royalty and high society, but now one can see golden embroidery worn during Uzbek ceremonies. Gulduzi design comprises of floral stitching using a leather or paper pattern, whilst Zaminduzi creates solid golden floodwork. Items take between one week and a few months to complete.
Zebo Djumaeva was taught this art at an early age from her mother. She studied metal chasing for 5 years, before learning the art of golden embroidery. Her work has found homes in Franee, America, Finland, Russia and throughout Central Asia.
