On the initiative of Mansur Zakirov of Bukhara tourism a splendid new map, indicating all monuments, hotels, b&b's, restaurants, and sites of major interest in English, was commissioned and is currently in the making, awaiting double and tripple checking. Available as of March in all hotels, b&b's and a variety of shops.

The Crafts Development Center at Caravansarai Saiffudin hasn't been idle over the winter months. A streamlined collection of bedspreads and table cloth is ready at the Silk Embroidery workshop, Malika has been further experimenting with printing blocks and Islam, master metal chaser, woodwork masters and Davlad's miniature paintings all await your visit.

Legends of Samarkand is in the process of adding a private bath to each room; not an easy undertaking to integrate into the 19th century stately merchant's home the modern amenities visitors require. Also, the new Airport Duty Free Shop has been commissioned to Caravan; we got to cast a glance at the sketches and they look just great.
